I was wondering if someone can assist with configuring DFM for my scenario.
I have two routers and each router has a serial link each the same host server (let's call them link-A and link-B).
The host normally connects via one serial link at a time where the other is used a backup, and here is my problem.
Normally I would get an alarm when link-B is down, but to get around this I have configured a new "Threshold Interface Group" and assigned link-B as a backup which is great as my "down" alarm disappears. BUT, when link-B become active, I get two alarms stating that 1. link-B backup is active and 2. link-A is down. Now the host server can work in this configuration and it is not seen to be a problem. Is it possible to configure DFM to show an alarm ONLY when both links fail, if so how :~)
irisrios, thanks for your reply. Without sounding to ungrateful, I've already read the doco on how to DFM groups and setting and unless I missed something, I can't see anything that can help my situation. Perhaps you misunderstood my requirements, so I'll explain it differently.
This is actually a pretty cool feature, i didn't even know it existed until I was looking for a solution to advertise a subnet (prefix in BGP talk), only if a certain condition existed. This is exactly what conditional advertisements does
