Does a switch forward a broadcast on all ports

All documentation relating to switching states that a switch will forward a broadcast on all ports. Am I right in assuming that a switch will not forward the broadcast on the port on which it was recieved? - I'm trying to understand why a broadcast packet will not turn into a storm when passed between 2 switches.

Re: Does a switch forward a broadcast on all ports

Broadcast is sent to all the ports belonging to the same VLAN within a single switch or more switches again in the same VLAN.
