I noticed the UBR904 and UBR924 cable modems started showing up on ebay for dirt cheap ($75). I was thinking about buying one to replace my rented cable modem and linksys switch. Why are the Cisco's so cheap? Are they soon to be obsolete with the cable companies moving to DOCSIS 1.1 and eventually 2.0?
Should I buy one?
Thanks!!!

The uBR 900s will not support DOCSIS 1.1 or 2.0. Take a look at this link for information on support for DOCSIS 1.1.

The price for the uBRs are lower possibly because they are EOL.

So should I buy one? As apposed to paying cable modem rental. I would buy one if I knew I could use it with Comcast for a year or so.
