doing sho run and getting last conf change displayed in the config

Hi,

I know that might be a stupid one but here goes:

I have two 7206 exactly configured the same way and with the same IOS, but on one of them when I do a sho run I get :

Current configuration : 76207 bytes

!

! Last configuration change at 11:47:27 EDT Tue Jan 28 2003 by lanielm

! NVRAM config last updated at 11:35:34 EDT Tue Jan 28 2003 by lanielm

version 12.2

service timestamps debug datetime localtime show-timezone

service timestamps log datetime msec localtime show-timezone

service password-encryption

but when I do the same thing on the other one I get:

Current configuration : 97959 bytes

!

version 12.2

service timestamps debug datetime localtime show-timezone

service timestamps log datetime msec localtime show-timezone

service password-encryption

Is there a reason it appear on one and not the other? I was under the impression that the "service timestamps" was generating this kind of output, I guess I was wrong.

If someone could shed some light on this one I would appreciate it.

Thanks,

Mario Laniel

Re: doing sho run and getting last conf change displayed in the

The explanation is fairly easy though:

The system clock must have been set to a valid date & time when the NVRAM is changed. When the clock is not set, the lines stating date of change are not entered in the config.

Cheers,
