Dot1q Trunk between C2948G-L3 and C3548XL

I see document for config VLAN between C2948G-L3 and C2900. I can work with C2950-24 and ping all VLAN. The port trunk not problem, but with C3548 is impossible. I tested with port-channel and subinterface, but not. The interface down/up, up/down all time after of config port with trunk.

The version IOS in C3548XL is 12.0(5.2)XU

Is possible work with VLAN between C2948G-L3 and C3548XL ?? in document is possible, but is not real.

It should be no problem to trunk between the 2948G-L3 and the 3548XL switch.

If the interface keeps going up/down then that is your problem.

You should first make sure the interface remains up and is stable before trunking

will be working.

Try using a different cable/port and fix duplex/speed on both sides

I config interface with speed 100 and duplex full in both device, but not work with TRUNK and yes with only switching. The equal config yes work in C2950-24, but C35XX XL not.

I not understand the problem ??

Are both switches in the same VTP domain?

The switch Catalyst 2948G-L3 no work with VTP server, so I not config VTP Domain in switch 3548 of access.

Hi.

If both switches are not on the same VTP domain, make sure that you set the trunk with the "on" keyword, otherwise the switches will tril to negotiate via DTP, and as they are on different VTP domains it won't work.
