Doubt about Switches 2590

Hi, I`ve 2 switches 2950, I would like to separate 2 networks in VLANs. I have a FW linux as router.

It`s possible these?

I know that I need a switch 5000 or 6000 (ISL) and a one router cisco (isl).

Could you explain me?

Re: Doubt about Switches 2590

the 2950's support trunking as well. For linux i think there are some drivers as well

that allow you do dot1q trunking (802.1q) so if you load those on your firewall/router

then you should be able to build up a trunk between the two switches and a trunk towards

the router/firewall and have the firewall route between the vlan's
