Doubt regarding SNMP configuration

I have one core switch and several access swtch. I was told to configure SNMP in the network.

I need to install the SNMP commands in my networks. If so, should I need to apply what ever commands I apply in the core to the access layer switches. Can any one suggest me???

Re: Doubt regarding SNMP configuration

Hi Friend,

Config need not be exactly same for SNMP on core and access switches , it all depends what you or your snmp server wants from access switch. If you want to fetch all informations like you want from core on your snmp server then you can configure access switch with same snmp config.

It depends so you have to decide what you want from access switch if you just want it to be polled or youalso want access switch to generate traps etc etc.
