I have a 6509 with MSFC and PFC. I have a QOS ACL which marks the DSCP to 20 for traffic on one of my VLANs. Using a sniffer, I learned that some of the traffic is marked correctly and the rest isn't. The port QOS is vlan-based and the ACL is applied to the VLAN. The port trust is the default untrusted. My MLS flow mask is full flow and shortcuts exist for the IP subnet in the VLAN in question. Changing the flow flushes the shortcuts and the shortcuts rebuild once the flow is changed again to full flow.
Shouldn't this cause the ACL to be applied to every packet once the initial enabler packet initiates the MLS shortcut? Any ideas as to why it wouldn't be applied to every packet?
This is actually a pretty cool feature, i didn't even know it existed until I was looking for a solution to advertise a subnet (prefix in BGP talk), only if a certain condition existed. This is exactly what conditional advertisements does
