DSL and PIX 515

Is it possible to plug you dsl modem directly into the outside interface on the PIX? Then I would use NAT or PAT for the LAN stations wanting access to the internet.

Also, do you need a seperate public ip for you internet, vpn, and mail connection or can they all use the same ip.

You mean to say you want to connect the ethernet port of DSL modem to outside ethernet port of PIX right?

YES..only if the dsl line is configured for PPPoE.

PIX now can act as PPPoE client on outside interface. So pl. visit following url for config, debug and more on that
