DSL VPN NAT 1720 To 678 Design Questions

topology:

private network-----ethernet-----1720-----ethernet-----678-----pstn/dsl/dmt/ppp----vpn clients

Static IPs are provided by the ISP. One Static IP would be used for the 678 DSL interface. The 1720 would be the DHCP server. Question (a) Can NAT be configured on the 1720? Question (b) Can the VPN/IPsec be configured on the 1720? Question (c) What else should I be aware of with this design? Thank You

Re: DSL VPN NAT 1720 To 678 Design Questions

How many statics do you have? With my limited knowlege of VPN/NAT working together I can't suggest much, maybe one of the security people can help more with that.

Sounds feasible to me, but hopefully someone smarter will comment.

Re: DSL VPN NAT 1720 To 678 Design Questions

private network----e0---1720---wic0-----e0---678---wall----pstn/dsl/dmt/ppp-----ISP-----vpn clients

I would install (1) a static route on the 1720 wic0 interface pointing to the ISP's network address of the static IP of the 678 WALL interface and (2) a default route installed on the 1720 wic0 interface:

ip route <1720_wic0>

ip route 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 <678_e0>

Thank you for the response Josh.

Correction to static route:

ip route <1720_wic0>
