DTE/DCE Serial X-Over cable

As subject:

Does anyone know the Cisco part numbers of serial X-over cables for:

- 2600 series router using WIC-2T to 2500 series router (standard DB-60 interface)

- 2500 series to 2500 series

Are there any good guides describing the use and selection of serial cross over cables for different serial interface types?

Here is a list of all the WIC-2T cables:

RS-530 Cable, DTE Male to Smart Serial, 10 Feet CAB-SS-530MT

RS-530A Cable, DTE Male to Smart Serial, 10 Feet CAB-SS-530AMT

RS-530A Cable, DTE Male to Smart Serial, 10 Feet CAB-SS-530AMT=

None of them terminate to DB-60 so you will probably just need to buy two cables with a common connector (DB-60 to DB-25 male and Smart Serial to DB-25 female).

Be careful though. Notice that there is not a TIA/EIA-530 DCE option with the WIC for some reason. So the 2600 would have to be the DTE side of the equation if you use 530. I just went through this problem a few days ago with a couple of 1720s. All I had at the time were 530 cables, and, since I couldn’t set one up as a DCE, I ran the interfaces in async mode and put a null modem between the DB-25 connectors. So before you try to set up any kind of roll over, make sure that one of your interfaces can be set up as DCE and that it can be made to provide clock to the DTE.

As for a good config guide, I have searched long and hard on CCO and never found anything worth reading on the subject. Please let me know if you come up with anything good.

And for 2500 to 2500 series using standard HD-60 connectors, I found this at that same site:
