Hi,
you can create two HSRP groups on the routers and both of the two routers
will be the active one for the two networks you must create. Then you can
simply put one half of the hosts in one network and the other host in the
second network or you will use a third router as a default gateway and that
router does the load-balancing between the two Cisco 7206s.
An other solution is to simply enable a routing protocol between the two
routers enable HSRP between both and adjust the routing on the active one
to load-balance between himself and the backup-router. This will work
quite fine. The only disadventure is that (depending on the switching mode)
half of the traffic will run twice over the LAN but if there is enough bandwidth
this should be of no concern.
I'm working for BT in Germany and we have both solutions in place for some
of our customer.
