dual ospf process

Hi,

Why somebody would like to run two ospf process ? and then redistribute both of them. one reason could be simplicity. any other thoughts ? I mean any other reasons ?

I would say you typically do this when you want to separate two routing domains, i.e. with different admins for each.

A related question, if I had the following....

r1-OSPF process-id 100 area 0

|

r2-OSPF process-id 200 area 1

|

r3 -OSPF process-id 200 area 0

R2 is running mutual redistribution, is area 0 split ?

My assumption is yes as the process id is locally significant, can any clarify this ?
