Duplex Mismatch b/t Cisco 2600 Ethernet and Cisco Switch C2900XL FastEther

Have a Cisco 2610 router via ethernet connected to Cisco Switch c2900XL via fastethernet. Switch is set to 10 MB. Both are configured to full duplex. Both logs show cdp %CDP-4-DUPLEX_MISMATCH, with the router at half-duplex and switch at full-duplex. Why would this be? Is there a way to find any type of hardware mismatches? Thanks.

Re: Duplex Mismatch b/t Cisco 2600 Ethernet and Cisco Switch C29

Some older Cisco devices (1600 router, e.g.) support only half-duplex on 10Mbps.

So test if your router supports full-duplex (there should be full-duplex, duplex full or similar command available while configuring the interface).

If not, try to upgrade to the latest IOS.

If still full-duplex is not supported, set both line ends to half-duplex.

Regards,

Milan
