dymamic IP ?

I need to set up a router (Cisco 2611) that can handle the ethernet output from a cable modem. Is it possible to setup dynamic IP addressing on the ethernet port for the router to accept the IP given by the Cable company?

any help is appreciated.

thanks

Re: dymamic IP ?

YES..It is possible to use cisco router getting dynamic ip address on the ethernet port behind a non cisco cable modem..Here is the sample config for that

Re: dymamic IP ?

"ip address dhcp" under the ethernet interface connected to the cable modem.
