E1 Balanced vs. Unbalanced G703/G704

In ordering parts for a new E1 facility in the UK I find myself wondering what the difference is between Balanced and Unbalanced connections.

This is further confused by being able to install a Balanced E1 card in a 2610 and connecting to the ISP with an unbalanced cable.

I have been told by Cisco not to wory about this, that it will work. Well I know it will work I need to understand why.

If anyone out there knows please share your knowledge.

Re: E1 Balanced vs. Unbalanced G703/G704

balanced uses 120 ohms and is used for ISDN 30,

unblanced is 75 ohmn and is used for breaking down

a 2mg feed into multiple 64k links- ie lease lines.

balanced uses rj45 and unbalanced uses coax.
