Educational Network

I am wanting to build a high-end educational network in my home to work toward my CCIE. What hardware would the community reccommend? I want to focus mostly on dynamic routing.

How many of what would you reccomend?

Re: Educational Network

Check this link for the equipments that are used in the real lab.

http://www.cisco.com/warp/public/625/ccie/certifications/routing.html

Buyin all these equipments are gonna be costly, you might also check at ebay.com for deals on routers and switches.

2500 and 1600s, are the cheapest router series u can get, but they are not capable of running VoIP, ATM etc.

Since you want to focus mainly on Dynamic routing, 2500s and 1600s would do the job for you.

You can also order cables for cheap, either at ebay.com or at anthonypanda.com

For immediate access to two 2500 routers, connected via serial cable, telnet to www.r1r2.com. Check their home page (same URL) to find out more on usernames, labnames, and passwords. They also provide CCIE lab access, at a reasonable price.

Hope that helps!@
