Hi,
I'm currnetly studying for the CCNP exam. One thing which I haven't found an answer to, is whether the AS numbers in a internal company running EIGRP must match the AS number provided by the ISP for the company with BGP?
Thanks in advance,
Rasmus

Hello Rasmus,
yes, all EIGRP AS numbers are private and free to choose within your network, they are never advertised on the Internet.

Hello,
BGP AS numbers and EIGRP AS numbers have nothing to do with each other. BGP actually differentiates between public AS numbers in the range of 1 - 64511 and private AS numbers in the range of 64512 to 65535. Although the EIGRP AS numbers have the same range (1 - 65535) there is no correlation.

Hi,
First of all - thanks for your prompt reply.
Last thing:
Are the EIGRP AS numbers all private then?
