EIGRP: Classless routing protocol

In EIGRP router configuration, it doesn?t require specifying netmask or wildcard mask like OSPF; how classless stuff works in EIGRP? Will it just automatically know which netmask will be sending out with the routing updates? Or I need to issue "no auto-summary" to make it works in classless mode?

Re: EIGRP: Classless routing protocol

Hi Life,

From 12.0(4)T, Cisco started allowing the wldcard mask to br entered along witn network address.

Important concept to remember is EIGRP by default will automatically summarize routes at the classful network boundary when the route crosses the the classful network boundaries. To disable automatic summarization of routes you have to use "no auto-summary" command.
