EIGRP MD5 authentication

I have 2 6500 with msfc's and a 7200 on the same vlan. I need to apply MD5 authentication for EIGRP between them. Do I use the same key on all of the routers or must I use a different key for each neighbor relationship?

Hello Don,

Typically you use the same key for all routers in the same Autonomous System.

When using different keys, one needs a lot of keys in a full/partial meshed topology with more than 3 routers to achieve connectivity.

Leo

Use the same key on all of them. The multiple keys in a key chain are more for migration purposes.

Hope this helps,
