EIGRP Metrics

Does the 'default-metric x x x x x' statement under 'router eigrp 1' override any metric changes that have been made on the interfaces? For example -

interface FastEthernet4/0/0

ip address 10.10.10.10 255.255.255.0

delay 120

router eigrp 1

network 10.0.0.0

default-metric 10000 10 255 1 1500

no auto-summary

Under these circumstances, which delay metric is advertised?

Re: EIGRP Metrics

You need a default metric to redistribute routes from another protocol (OSPF, RIP) in to EIGRP. These external routes are imported using this metric.

Re: EIGRP Metrics

They should affect only those routes which are redistributed from another protocol into EIGRP. The metric configured on any interface would be still active. and used inorder to calculate cost to a particular network.
