Have a 3550 which we use for client connections. A client has provided a router which I connected to this switch and provided them a network with a 248 mask. I then set up a vlan with an address which also belongs to this 248 masked network. From the 3550 I can ping the client rtr. If I do an extended ping and use the address of the management vlan (another network)to do the ping it fails. If both networks are summarized in my EIGRP should I not see it. When I do a sh arp I see the rtr address.

There is most likely no route back to your management vlan from the client router .

Got a hold of the client rtr's route table and you are correct. Thanks
