EIGRP PROBLEM - NOVELL SERVER

When we migrated from rip to Eigrp we found the

netware servers in branches were not able to reach the central office.

The netware server is reachable within the local net.

Netware server runs 3.12 and is bound to ip

with frame type ETHERNET_II

With rip this is not a problem.

ipx routing is not enabled.(either when in rip or in eigrp now)

what is the issue.

Re: EIGRP PROBLEM - NOVELL SERVER

By default the IP stack for Netware 3.x listens for RIP. You can disable this feature and configure a default gateway but you will have to edit the 'startup.ncf' file. Have a look on Novell's website for the exact syntax - its been years since I touched it, but I specifically remember this issue.

Try this page on Novell's site - since you have netware 3.12 it may not have all the info you need:

Re: EIGRP PROBLEM - NOVELL SERVER

Hello

There looks like that there is routing problem. You need to enable ipx routing on the local routers in the remote branches. Have RIP and EIGRP running on the routers. And disable rip advertisement on the specific ipx network. By default redistribution is enabled between rip and eigrp.

This should solve your problem.
