EIGRP SUMMARY

HI

IF I Have 5 separeted dist connected to the core.i have summarized to the core; i have this network.

10.1.0.0

10.2.0.0

10.3.0.0

10.4.0.0

10.5.0.0

the routing protocole is EIGRP.i dont need to confuse the core that it can reach the 10.0.0.0 network through 4 interfaces.how can i configure the 4 dist to do not confuse the CORE

ps have a look to this config

dist 1

int gig0/1

address subnet mask

ip sumuary-address eigrp 100 10.1.0.0 255.255.0.0

!

dist 2

int gig0/1

address subnet mask

ip sumary-address eigrp 100 10.2.0.0 255.255.0.0

!

dist 3

int gig0/1

address subnet mask

ip sumary-address eigrp 100 10.3.0.0 255.255.0.0

!

dist 4

int gig0/1

address subnet mask

ip sumaary-address eigrp 100 10.3.0.0 255.255.0.0

!

just i need to reduce the overload on the core. CONFIGURATION OF THESE DIST VERY MUCH APPRECATED + CHECK THE ABOUVE CONFIG ON THE DIST ;AND ADVISE ME WHERE IS MY MISTAKE.i have disabled auto-sumary

Re: EIGRP SUMMARY

hi ali,

as per your requirement you need to send the summary and also dont want to confuse core, it mean you wnated to select the best path am i right...

if yes then i think you have to change the metrics so core will select the best path.

Re: EIGRP SUMMARY

HI

As u have disbaled the automatic summarization u will not advertsie u r network as a classful network.

Can u paste the sh ip route on u r core switch so that we can check how it is learning the routes from dist.

Thanks

Re: EIGRP SUMMARY

Ali

The original post does not provide much information about what the topology is and does not provide much information about what is not working (what is the real problem). Some clarification about this would help us to give better answers.

However one thing I do see that looks like a problem is this:

dist 3

int gig0/1

address subnet mask

ip sumary-address eigrp 100 10.3.0.0 255.255.0.0

!

dist 4

int gig0/1

address subnet mask

ip sumaary-address eigrp 100 10.3.0.0 255.255.0.0

why are dist 3 and dist 4 advertising the same address range to the core? Unless they are interconnected and both can really access the same set of addresses this would be a mistake.
