EIGRP to BGP Migration steps

Hi all!

We are in process of segregating our flat eigrp network by converting Eigrp backbone into BGP.

After we do the same within each region we will still have Eigrp 100 running, where as between core Routers we will be using EBGP for exchanging the updates.

I was just wondering on:

Any issues involved while doing such kind of migration.

Guidelines to be followed in order to eliminate the routing loops.

Thx

Raj

Re: EIGRP to BGP Migration steps

hi,

You must know in the core, BGP is used for distribute routes and need an IGP for routing ( BGP next-hop) .

this means in your core, you need BGP and an IGP ( eigrp or another) for resolving BGP next-hop .

or another solution, using next -hop self for IBGP .

Tran .
