Re: eigrp variance command

OSPF only supports equal cost load balancing. No Variance type command.

Hope this helps you,

Re: eigrp variance command

You can force the cost of the links using ip ospf cost command, to make the cost of all links equal, and there by achieve load balancing (equal cost). By doing this the only disadvantage is that, you cannot do load sharing, based on the actual bandwidth of the link. (all links, whether they are high/ low bandwidth, will be equally utilised).

Otherwise, OSPF doesnt support unequal cost LB.

Re: eigrp variance command

You could possably load balance with static routes. using several routes to the bigger link and one for the slower link. I think that the router will use each route statment in order so if you use the apropriate number of route statments you can send the traffic the link will suport. example 512k versis 256k

ip route x.x.x.x x.x.x.x s0/0

ip route x.x.x.x x.x.x.x s0/0

ip route x.x.x.x x.x.x.x s0/1

may work
