Encapsulation dot1q on WS-4418-GB

Hi all,

I have a 4006 (sup3) and a 4506 (Sup4) have WS-4118-GB with Gbics in each in slot6. They are are uplinked to another couple of switches by port 6/1,6/2 (portchannel ) encap dot1q and work fine.

But i cannot uplink ports 6/3,6/4 as the switchport port Trunk encapsulation dot1q command does not work ...

Port capabilities displays 802.1q is possible . Please help .

I am running IOS cat4000-i5s-mz.122-25.EW.bin on each swith.

Yes dot1q is supported on all 18 ports. ISL is supported on ports 1 and 2. You do not see "switchport port Trunk encapsulation dot1q" because ports 3-18 support only dot1q and there is no need to specify encapsulation.
