Encapsulation Failed on 803 DDR ISDN dialup to ISP

I am getting Encapsulation failed when using DDR on an 803 to an ISP. I get the encapsulation failed when I switch on Debug.

Bri is set to encaps ppp.

Any ideas.

Damien.

Re: Encapsulation Failed on 803 DDR ISDN dialup to ISP

Encapsulation failed may be because of "no valid routes" to destination in your case..So when you have tried to ping the ip address, 803 do not know where to send the packet..

Here is a good link for sample config on 800 router dialing to isp

http://www.cisco.com/warp/customer/471/ddreasyip.html

Now to troubleshoot more Pl. post

sh run

sh isdn status

Along with following debug for a callout from 803 to see the whats going on.

debug isdn q931

debug ppp authentication

debug ppp negotiation
