Hi,
when you want to change the password you should do it like this :
username louie privilegde 15 password newpass
When you configure it with the keyword '7' the router expects a crypted password not clear text.
The router does a valid check for crypted passwords. So when you type in a password in cleartext with the '7' the router reject this cleartext password as a valid crypted password.
The encrypt your passwords on the router use the 'service password-encryption' feature.
Hope this helps,
Udo
