error message on 4506R

Hi,

I have got 2 numbers of 4506 which are connected to the 6500 switch the connectivity to the core switch is over the two different port channel (2 physical interface for each port channel.

No I am getting the below error message please let me know what to do to prevent the error message.

10.192.66.105 on one 4506 switch

Nov 3 18:40:22 IST: %C4K_L2MAN-6-INVALIDSOURCEADDRESSPACKET: Packet received with invalid source MAC address (11:4C:00:10:4F:06) on port Po5 in vlan 60

Nov 4 08:14:28 IST: %C4K_L2MAN-6-INVALIDSOURCEADDRESSPACKET: (Suppressed 21 times)Packet received with invalid source MAC address (00:00:00:00:00:00) on port Po5 in vlan 60

This is a potentially tough problem.

What you need to do is find the source of these packets with invalid source MAC address.

This can come from a misbehaving host. Mostly traffic like this has an invalid CRC as well and is not forwarded by a switch.

If the latter is the case, the error source might be on the one of the channel interfaces.

Things to check:

in/output errors on the channel interfaces

potential relation with any host in the network

recent changes
