error message on 6509

Hello,

I found an error message on my cat6509:

"

System returned to ROM by unknown reload cause - suspect boot_data[BOOT_COUNT] 0x0, BOOT_COUNT 0, BOOTDATA 19 (SP by power-on)

"

Can anybody tell me what happened on my switch and what does that mean?

Thanks a lot.

Regards,

Sha

Re: error message on 6509

What image are you running on the Sup720? Was the sup powered down prior? Most likely this is a bug - it's a false message. Bug id is included below. Release notes is also included below.

You can read the same Release Notes I included below by looking at the bug itself from this link:

http://www.cisco.com/kobayashi/support/tac/tools.shtml

Search for "bugtool kit" hyperlink and click it. Enter the bug id I ID below in the ensuing window.

Maybe this bug:CSCee45650

Problem description :

---------------------

A sup720-3BXL running s72033-pk9sv-mz.122-17d.SXB may show the following when executing the command "show version" :

System returned to ROM by unknown reload cause - suspect boot_data[BOOT_COUNT] 0x0, BOOT_COUNT 0, BOOTDATA 19 (SP by power-on)

Impact :

--------

There is no impact on normal operation of the switch.

Workaround :

-----------

There is currently no known workaround.

I am pretty sure this is it especially if there is no crashinfo file.

Re: error message on 6509

bosalaza,

Thank you. I think I hit the bug. My image is s72033-ps-mz.122-17d.SXB6.bin

(I searched the keyword 'BOOT_COUNT' on CCO and can find nothing.)

I will keep on monitoring the switch.

Thanks again.

I am getting this message

I am getting this message also. My switch seems to run perfect. Did you ever figure out if it was a problem?
