There are two bugs related to this. CSCdk47791 is seen in 4.1(3) and 4.2(1).
Prior to this bug being fixed in 4.2(2), the switch would reboot everytime it
encountered a parity error. CSCdk75035 is seen in 4.2(2) and 4.3(1a). Prior to this bug being fixed in 4.4(1) you see what you were seeing, parity errors cause
messages to be logged to the screen, after 10 such errors the switch should reboot. The fix 75035 does a much better job of fixing the problem, as it will only reboot the switch is the parity error happens on a system cam entry, otherwise it just invalidates that cam entry with the parity error and goes on it's way. The "blackcomb" is a chip on the EARL of the cat5000 with the NetFlow Feature Card (NFFC). The "blackcomb" is what stores the cam table, so a parity error in that chip means that the cam entry could be incorrect, and that the switch could be sending the packt to the wrong destination.
