I am experiencing a problem starting the EssentialsDbEngine. I am running LMS 2.1 on Win2k 5.0 sp2. When I look at the win2k Event Viewer for Applications I see an error message for the EssentialsDbEngine with the following description: "Cannot open transaction log - No such file or directory".
I am assuming it is looking for a log file in the CSCOpx\log directory, but am not sure which one. Any ideas?

Does a net stop crmdmgtd followed by net start crmdmgtd make any difference?

No, already tried that. Also tried rebooting the server (just in case) to no avail.

I seem to remember having a similar problem and it was related to permissions on the database.

best way to fix this ....
give everyone full rights to your CW2k directory/sub-direcotry ....(to check it works)..
then tak away right`s underneath...
if yuo don`t have proper right to the CGi-bin dir you can`t do anything...

I checked and all permissions are all o.k. Any other ideas?
