etherchannel hello interval 30s?

Does anyone point me the reference about the calculation of the hello interval in etherchannel?

This is found that the hello interval 30s is too long in our environement because this is using the STM-1 ethernet connections, which the port would stay up(for the STM-1 connection is still operating) until 30s.

Thanks a lot.

Bennith.

Re: etherchannel hello interval 30s?

I think this is a static value and cannot be tuned. I could not come across a reference which expains the basis on which it is set to this value.
