Etherchannel issue

HI all,

Here is the relevant output in the config, I´m trying to create an etherchannel between a 3750 switch (working in stack mode) and 7304 router.

ROUTER 7304

interface Port-channel10

no ip address

no negotiation auto

no clns route-cache

hold-queue 150 in

!

interface Port-channel10.1100

encapsulation dot1Q 1100

ip address 192.168.100.1 255.255.255.0

Switch 3750 (stack)

interface Port-channel10

switchport trunk encapsulation dot1q

switchport trunk allowed vlan 1100-2000

switchport mode trunk

interface GigabitEthernet1/0/25

switchport trunk encapsulation dot1q

switchport trunk allowed vlan 1100-2000

switchport mode trunk

channel-group 10 mode on

!

!

interface GigabitEthernet2/0/25

switchport trunk encapsulation dot1q

switchport trunk allowed vlan 1100-2000

switchport mode trunk

channel-group 10 mode on

!

!

interface Vlan1100

ip address 192.168.100.2 255.255.255.0

!

interface Vlan1200

ip address 192.168.200.2 255.255.255.0

!

The thing is that config looks fine, interfaces (and vlans) are UP, all appears to be working OK in layer 2, but there is no connectivity in layer 3, ping don´t work.

Any idea?

thanks in advance

Re: Etherchannel issue

Hi

Few quick checks on the physical status of all the virtual as well as physical interfaces.

Also the status of the SVI interfaces and normal vlan status in 3750.

are you trying to ping the router from the switch or trying to ping from router to switch ?

Any routes or any routing protocol being configured in the switch as well as in the router ??

Re: Etherchannel issue

What are you trying to ping . In order to have the layer 3 interface up on the 3750 you will need at least one active user on that switch in that vlan otherwise the SVI will be up/down I believe . Check that the trunk and etherchannel are working ok, do a show interface trunk and a show etherchannel detail and make sure the trunk and etherchannel are correct.

Re: Etherchannel issue

I´m trying to ping the switch from the router and also the router from the switch, routing is OK and all the interfaces are UP, there´s traffic in the interfaces counters.

I´m going to try any debug...

Re: Etherchannel issue

Try the following ping

ping ip 192.168.100.2 source 192.168.100.1

ping ip 192.168.100.1 source 192.168.100.2

Re: Etherchannel issue

Yes, I was trying that but no way, another more thing is when I put the interface of the 7304 out of the etherchannel I can see the switch with the sh cdp neig but when interfaces are grouped to teh etherchannel there is no way no see the switch via cdp. I can see always the router from the 3750 via cdp.......

any idea?
