etherchannel problem

I connect two 6509 with two 100M fastethernet using etherchannel. But the port of one 6509 will report

errdisable. It can work normal if I reenable it. But after a while, console will report:

%SPANTREE-2-CHNMISCFG: STP loop - channel 3/1-2 is disabled in vlan 11.

and the port will become errdiable.

So I verify the configuration of the port 3/1-2:

1.all port belong to vlan1

2.etherchannel mode is set to on

3.the UTP 5 is correct.

I don't know why,pls help me,thanks!

Re: etherchannel problem

Have you verified your channeling is working correctly??

show port channel?

Sounds like its not, if STP is seeing a loop, the link is still 2 logical links, not 1 logical link (2 phyiscal) Ensure your duplexing and so on is all set the same

Just my thoughts.

Re: etherchannel problem

if I reenable the errdisable port and show port channel, result is following:(I think duplexing and so on is all set the same)

6506A> (enable) sh port channel

Port Status Channel Admin Ch

Re: etherchannel problem

make sure portfast is disabled on those ports

set spantree portfast 3/1-2 disable

and do a

set port duplex full 3/1-2

set port speed 100 3/1-2

check your switches vlan bridge priority in vlan 11

show spantree 11

make sure your "ROOT" is determined by your design, not by other things like lower mac addresses etc.

you should have BOTH sides set exactly the same for duplex and speed ..
