Hi, the Router Cable Specifcation shows the pinout for the 530 DTE and the 530A DCE cable as identical, the only difference being at the router connection where a different local connection is used. (530 = Mode_0 , 530A = MODE_1 )
I assume that these control the generation / use of clocks but I can find no reference anywhere that defines how these different cables control the hardware. Does anybody know exactly what to expect with these two cables?

I believe that the "A" stands for asyncronous and the 530 without the "A" is synchronous.

Thanks - If it is that simple why is not made clear in the cable specifications?
