I have a cluster with two 2950 using GigaStack Gbics, in one port per switch.
spanning-tree stack-port is configured on that links.
The second port on the access switches is used as uplink to the core switches. When I try to extend the cluster with one more switch, I have to unplug the redundant GigaStack cable, or if iI dont use a redundant GigaStack Cable I have to plug in a clable to connect it to the new switch I want to add. Doing this, the LEDs on the GigaStack Gbics start flashing amber. This results in a 30 sec loss of connectivity for the end systems connected to the stack.
My question now is, if there is a possibility to extend an existing cluster without disrupting the connectivity for the end stations that are already connected to the cluster ?
