Fast Ethernet connection between catalyst 6500 and HP switch

Hello,

this connection is only working if the port on the catalyst is configured as hd (HP switch is autosensing)

whereas the connection between the HP switch and a as fd configured FE interface on a router is working.

Any simliar expierences , any ideas?

Many known issues with Cisco equip and auto-sensing. The best thing to do is to hard-code your duplex and speed settings an both sides of your connection to alleviate the possibility of these problems occuring. This is also known to create many CRC errors on ports.

thanks for your attention.

We tried all possible hard-code variants already

without success.

We contacted HP as well. Maybe a firm ware upgrade is a solution.
