Re: Filter IP AND MAC address

You can use Port Security for mac filtering. This is possible either using static MAC addresses:

set port security enable

or by learning restricted MAC addresses dynamically:

set port security enable

You can use IP PERMIT FILTERS for IP filtering. These are filters to safeguard access to the management sc0 interface via telnet and other protocols.

Use the following commands to enable IP address and port filtering:

set ip permit enable

set ip permit

Please keep in mind that it is possible to spoof IP addresses and to fool filtered access, so this is the first layer of protection only.

For more information on configuring filters on Cisco 4006 switch, please refer he following documents:

http://www.cisco.com/warp/public/473/103.html

http://www.cisco.com/warp/public/473/103.html#secconf

In the case of cisco 3524, 3524, 2950, 2980 edge switch switch, please go through the following URL:
