Filtering traffic on bridge

Hi all,

Now, I have two sites connected through two cisco routers running in bridge mode. (mainly because I have AS/400 on the network, so I bridge all traffic between two site.)

However, now I would like to lease different range of IP address & gateway on different site, such that users can use the nearest gateway to access to internet.

e.g.

Site A by DHCP server A

IP range: 10.100.0.1-100 gateway 10.100.0.101

Site B by DHCP server B

IP range: 10.100.0.105-200 gateway 10.100.0.201

Currently, since I am in bridging config, users on site A will receive DHCP server on site B.

How can I filter the dhcp broadcast so that the dhcp traffic would not pass through the cisco bridge? I came across filtering using "Ethernet Type Codes", however, I can't find anything related to DHCP protocol.

Help!

Best regards,

Calvin

Re: Filtering traffic on bridge

you could just filter broadcasts from one site going to the other site's DHCP server, but this can cause problems if they need to access that server for other services

Thank you very much.

How could I make such filter?

Best regards,
