Is there a way to determine a mac address on a CAT 5500 switch from the IPX address?
Thanks.

The IPX address consists of two parts. The network address and the node address. The node address is the 48 bit MAC address. Take the IPX address C15C0.0000.0000.0001. The network address is C15C0 and the node address (also the MAC address) is 0000.0000.0001. Hope this helps.

Thanks. On the related subject, how do I find out the mac address of a cat 5500 switch?
Thanks again.

I'm not positive it's the same, but on my 6506, I do a show module and it show the MAC addresses per module.
