Flash memories compatibility

Hello to all.

I bought used 16MB Flash memories for Cisco 2600. And installed it on Cisco 2500. The system could not recognize the Flash memory and serious error occurred when System Bootstrap run. It was as follows:

ERR: Invalid chip id 0x80B5 (reversed = 0x1AD ) detected in System flash

Can we upgrade Flash memories on EOS and EOL products?

Thanks.

Re: Flash memories compatibility

Hi

The Memory module which you are trying to install may be meant for Cisco 2600 only (compatible with 2600 series routers).

if possible do post out the module name if you see something on it..

Re: Flash memories compatibility

Hi.

I ordered used MEM2600-16FS=.

SMART SM73248XV2CAVS0 PFCI99061721 ASSEMBLED IN USA is printed on the module.

Is this genuin Cisco Flash memory?

Re: Flash memories compatibility

Hi

My Search in CCO for MEM2600-16FS= points out that its an upgrade option available for Cisco 2600 Series routers.

I doubt its compatibility to fit on with Cisco 2500 series router..

Re: Flash memories compatibility

I will save money again. I shall buy a Flash memory that works on Cisco 2500 someday.(´・ω・`)
