Flash memory and bootflash...

Hi

Are Flash memory and bootflash the same orare they different ? If yes, how ?

I have seen routers with a slot for PCMCIA slot. What is this slot meant for ?

Thanks and regards

Re: Flash memory and bootflash...

no they are different devices, meaning they are separate SIMMS in the system board, A PCMCIA slot is used to hols a PCMCIA card, THere are diffenrt size cards ranging from 16 MB to 100 MB , you can use these to hold configs, system images , you can also boot from these devices.
