Flash Partition

hi,

I have Cisco 3640 router with 32mb flash. I partitioned the flash into two by using the command partition flash 2 16 16 and installed different ios in both the flash and reloaded the router. When i type sh flash i get

Router#sh flash

System flash directory, partition 1:

File Length Name/status

1 9240544 c3640-is-mz.121-2.T.bin

[9240608 bytes used, 7536608 available, 16777216 total]

16384K bytes of processor board System flash (Read/Write)

System flash directory, partition 2:

File Length Name/status

1 13944932 c3640-jk8o3s-mz.122-13a.bin

[13944996 bytes used, 2832220 available, 16777216 total]

16384K bytes of processor board System flash (Read/Write)

Then in the global confiugration i gave

boot system flash:2

boot system flash:1

boot system flash

and when i reload the router I get error message like

open: file "2" not found

open(): open Error = -1

loadprog: error - on file open

boot: cannot load "flash:2"

The same thing comes for the flash 1 replacing 2 with 1 and finally the router boots with the defult boot system flash.

Can some advice me how to proceed to make sure that i could boot the flash of my choice and and configure each ios with different configurations.

Thanks in Advance

Re: Flash Partition

the syntax is boot system flash:2:c3640-jk8o3s-mz.122-13a.bin

Cisco is not very consistent with their boot statements
