I have upgrated the flash memory of a cisco 2621 from 8 MB to 16 MB. Normaly, after a reboot, the router should boot the rommon, because the flash is empty.
Nevertheless, this router doesn´t boot the rommon. Therefore, I am not able to contact the router via the console port. It looks like a missing rommon?
I never made such an experience. Any idea???
Thanks
Edgar

Pl. post the console log while the router is booting. For that plug the console with hyperterminal @ 9600, 8,N,1 and power on the router and capture the log.

Sorry, but this exactly the problem. The console starts logging the regular first 2 lines. Then, the rommon> prompt should appear.
Nevertheless, the console stops logging and I didn´t get the expected prompt.
If helpful, I will post the 2 lines. Before, I have to change flash memory again because currently the old 8 MB flash SIMM is inserted.
Thanks
Edgar
