FlashCard on 7505 router

hi,

my question:

i have a 7505 router, rsp1 with 16 MB flash.

now i want to upgrade to an other ios-image, so i need more than 16mb flash.

a.) is it possible to insert 2 cards with - 2 times 16 mb flash ?

b.) is it possible to insert one 32 mb flashcard (rsp1) ?

c.) is it possible to format both 16 mb card to one 32 mb card ?

i tried with 2 times 16mb flashcard, but the router is not able to read from the second card.

i tried wit formatting the second card - but it does not solve the problem:

Re: FlashCard on 7505 router

have you tried moving the card in slot 0 to slot 1 anf formatting it there ? if this works the slot is bad if it does not work the card is bad

Re: FlashCard on 7505 router

hi,

thanks for answer.

you were right - the card was bad.

now i have replaced the slot with an other 16mb card and now it works !

so i have two 16mb cards - one in slot0, the other in slot1.

is it possible to partition these two cards in a way that i have one 32mb partition ??????

i tried, but it doesn´t work - the router does not support the "partition"-command.

is this not possible on 7505 platform or is there an other way ?????

Re: FlashCard on 7505 router

there is really not any reason to partition these cards. You can specify what files you want to load by using the 'boot system command'

Re: FlashCard on 7505 router

hi,

ok, but what is if the ios is greather than 16mB ?

in my case this is the problem - i want to upload a ios (enterprise, ibm,..) which is more than 17 mB and i have "only" 2 16mB cards.

so what to do ??

- buy a 32mb flash card or is the possibility to partition these two 16 mB cards to one "big" 32mB.

thanks !!

Re: FlashCard on 7505 router

I think you are hosed , you are going to buy a larger card.

Try to find a code that will fit . Sometimes you do ot need all the features.

You can get away with using enterprise not enterprose plus, or you may not need encryption.

Hi everyone,Recently I bought

Hi everyone,

Recently I bought a CompactFlash Memory Card and when trying to use it, I found the same problem when trying to format it:

%Error formatting slot1 (Bad sector not allowed in region)

I've also tried changing the slot, and formatting the card on slot0, but the same error appeared.

Does this mean that, for sure, I'll have to buy another flash card? Isn't there any other solution?

Thanks!
