Flashing green LED on 9 port gig card (GBIC's) on 5509

We have a 5509 that has the 9 port gig cards in it and some of the leds are flashing green. Cannot find any documentation that indicates what this may mean. The link is active and appears to be working without problem.

Any help defining what flashing green led's mean on a particular port would be appreciated.

Re: Flashing green LED on 9 port gig card (GBIC's) on 5509

This looks strange...Normally there is no such condition... If ithe module or link LED is not changing from orange to green, then the module or port will be disabled. Here, in your case it is flashing green only and that condition never happens only..But,this condition is anyway doesnot point to any issues...

For issues related to LEDs you can go through the following URL:

I would say check your console messages and interface counters, if there are no abnormality's here it seems like the flashing leds are only showing the transimission/receiving of frames like they do in workgroup switches 2900/3500 series.
