FlexWan upgrade SDRAM

What is the recommended load to determine that I need to upgrade my Cisco 6509 FlexWan SDRAM

Currently, I'm using the default 128 SDRAM and there's (1) HSSI PA-2H and 4 port serial adapter

Just looking for a rule of thumb. I'm going to 256MB once it arrives but after installing the HSSI two days ago I've experienced multiple loss of connection showing no sign of the 4 port serial module.

There are many variables in this question, but 50% is when I start looking very hard at an upgrade.
