I would like to know the syntax to configure a floating static route on a 2600 series router.
I have an idea however would like this confirmed
ip route 10.0.0.0 255.0.0.0 192.168.30.250 10
ip route 10.0.0.0 255.0.0.0 192.168.30.250 20
10 and 20 being the adminastrative distances.
Please advise

Your config is correct.

Hi,
Generally, floating static routes are used to make static routes less preference compared to dynamic learned routes. So, for eg, if you are using RIP with Admin distance 120, then you need to configure the static route with end attribute more than 120 to solve your purpose.

Ashok.
